Mr. Johnson has spent his career representing clients in U.S. Bankruptcy Court and New Jersey insolvency proceedings. Prior to founding this firm, Mr. Johnson practiced at a premier boutique bankruptcy firm in northern New Jersey and is currently Of Counsel to that firm. He represents clients in voluntary and involuntary bankruptcy proceedings, assignments for the benefit of creditors, reorganizations, restructurings, DIP financing and litigation, including preference and fraudulent conveyance actions, as well as other insolvency-related proceedings in state and federal courts.
Mr. Johnson has considerable experience as Debtors’ counsel, handling all aspects of distressed business and individual bankruptcy cases from pre-petition planning through plan of reorganization.
In addition, Mr. Johnson represents privately held companies, franchisees, trade creditors, governmental entities, insurance carriers, landlords, financial institutions, credit issuers and purchasers of bankrupt debt, associations, and individuals.
Mr. Johnson is a member of the NJ Bankruptcy Inn of Courts and was most recently recognized as a New Jersey Superlawyer “Rising Star.”
After graduation from Rutgers School of Law-Camden, Mr. Johnson served a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Raymond A. Hayser, The State of New Jersey Tax Court, Newark, NJ.
Outside of the office, Mr. Johnson has volunteered at local high schools to teach about the importance of financial responsibility through the NJ Bankruptcy Law Foundation and NJ Higher Education Student Assistant Authority Joint Financial Literacy Project. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, as well as playing basketball, softball and golf.
